New Book Release: One of Us

Greetings all,

Exciting news! I have a new book out: One of Us: Christ and the People of Christmas. For those of you who have read Resurrecting Beauty, this is similar in style except the focus is Christmas rather than Easter.

One of Us is a ten chapter devotional that retells the story of Christmas from the perspective of the people involved in the biblical account: Zechariah and Elizabeth, Mary and Joseph, Herod and the magi, the shepherds and Simeon. Although the humanity of Christ is at the center, there is a whole cast of characters whose humanity serves and enhances the story, like background vocalists or musical accompaniment. The ultimate aim in this re-telling is to help you hear the good news of the Savior’s birth as if for the first time.

If you feel like you’ve heard the Christmas story a thousand times and grown tired of it, may this book help it come alive again. If you love the Christmas story and yet would like to see it from a different angle, may this book will help you love it more. If you’re like Charlie Brown and get lost and depressed in the commercialism of Christmas, may this book be a Linus that helps you reclaim the season’s meaning.

You can purchase copies from the website bookstore (preferred), but it’s also available on Amazon and in Kindle version. Currently at the website bookstore orders over $25 are 15% off with the code ONEOFUS.

I plan to send another newsletter in a couple of weeks with a sample chapter.

Grace to you all in this holiday season,

David
